Reactors
Reactors serve to limit grid and load stress at start-up and can be installed on the grid side upstream of the inverter, if present.
These reactors take care of filtering out any voltage peaks or disturbances from the mains, so that everything downstream, i.e. inverter and load, is protected.
S.V.T. chokes
They are mainly used for starting motors. However, there are different types of reactors:
- SHORT-CIRCUIT REACTORS: these are reactors which are used to limit the line current;
- FILTER REACTORS: these are single-phase or three-phase reactors used to filter the mains, i.e. to reduce the harmonic content in the mains;
- SHUNTS: these are reactors that prevent the voltage from rising at the end of the transmission line;
- SHUNTING REACTORS: these are reactors that allow the resonance frequency to be shifted to desired and non-hazardous values.
